So am I right in saying that the “new style” is “big bottoms and big tops”? I hate that. I spend a lot of time and energy to keep a nice figure, it seems this new “style” makes us women all look like big square blobs!

Thank you for featuring me. Combining different textures is one of the most difficult things for me to do. Right up there with creating the right proportions. Somehow it remains difficult for me. But hey, with blood, sweat and tears I get it done haha.

Hurrah for this post. I love colour and especially in winter when the days are grey. I just bought a pair of orange faux leather trousers haha. People will notice me when I enter a room. When looking good, I don’t mind.

Thank you for featuring me. The cream coat I am wearing was actually a blazer type coat with 2 buttons. I had a tailor add another button (plus buttonhole) at the top.

In reply to Sandy. turquoise and teal actually work really well with brown and cream. If you want to wear others colors too, just make sure you wear your 'good' colors close to your face. Just a brighter lipstick, scarf or earrings can make a difference too.

I love the natural style personality, but I’m also a bright spring who lives in bright bold colors. I wear mostly shades of teal and turquoise. I’m trying to incorporate more warm neutrals like brown and cream, but pastels wash me out. How do I make this style work for me?

Karen of styledbykaren gave me a good idea for a summer skirt which I can wear with boots.

Even the least dressy outfit shown or suggested in this article would have been way too dressy for the last rehearsal dinner I attended (as my own outfit was). The event was held in the backroom of a pub and everyone else wore what most people wear to pubs in the U.S. nowadays — sweatshirts, t-shirts, flannel shirts, faded jeans… Even the bride, a do-it-yourselfer who had probably been busy doing all sorts of pre-wedding prep, showed up in kind of grungy work clothes. So, I advise focusing more on the venue and the prevailing culture of the nuptial couple and their friends and family. But if you like to dress up a bit, don’t let that hold you back.

My go-to sneakers are Saucony for the fit and comfort. I put an insert that’s metallic on one side and felt on the inside in the bottom of my black shoes in fall to keep feet warm and dry. The grip on runners feels secure even on wet pavement and leafy sidewalks.

Hello: I have an ostomy and must wear my appliance in the center of my abdomen. I have been wearing tunic-style blouses from Foxcroft and can wear a variety of leggings/pants. I cannot wear clingy materials. I’m more comfortable when I wear a scarf with solid colors and generally wear checks and plaids for distraction. I have yet to find a nice sweater that works. Can you give me some style tips? I dress in a classic style and can’t wear prints. In the winter, I wore a generously cut black turtleneck with a longer Talbots vest. Adding a scarf helped change the look of my limited wardrobe. My price point would be the $104-$124 Foxcroft shirts. I did pay $140 for the black turtleneck. Any help would be appreciated.
